But art as entertainment? Absolutely.

Liven up your party by having a caricature artist at your special event! People love to watch the hands of an experienced artist capture someone's likeness in real-time. See an original drawing unfold and come to life before your eyes, from start to finish, in minutes.

I guarantee that the entertainment you book is of the highest standard, and suited to the occasion, so that you and your guests have the best time. Ever.

Depending on what your party is like, we have simplified it to different packages:

1. "SMUGZ OVER EASY!"
(black & white face only)
4-5 min/person = 12-20 mugz/hr
Recommended for large parties. Get the most drawings as possible. We will draw all your guests in black-and-white.

2. "THE CLASSIC SMUGZ!"
(black & white face with body)
5-7 min/person = 8-12 mugz/hr
So you wannabe a mermaid? Or in outer space? Recommended if you have a certain theme in mind and would like to add a nice touch! (Think: super hero, hawaiian luau, pirates, etc.)

3. "THE PRETTY SMUGZ!"
(color face only)
5-7 min/person = 8-12 mugz/hr
Oooh... Color just adds life and an element of flair! Put the sparkle in your eyes, rosy cheek or, "lip gloss" or baseball hat in your favorite team's color. Recommended if you'd like to keep things simple, yet add an extra nice touch!

4. "SMUGZ WITH THE WORKS!"
(color face with body)
10 min/person = 6 mugz/hr
Fluffy clouds! Swoosh by on a magic carpet! Fly faster than a speeding bullet! Superman just wouldn't be the same without the bright, red cape and amazing red "S" on his muscle-y chest.

If you have a lot of guests, and not a lot of time, we recommend doing the B&W faces ("Smugz Over Easy!") to get as many drawings as possible. If you would like to see some samples, please feel free to visit http://www.facebook.com/smugmugz

Included in each package:
* Each drawing is hand-drawn on 8 1/2" x 11" high-quality card stock paper. We have found that guests really appreciate this size, especially if they are traveling, or interested in framing their art in the future. It is easy enough to pack in a suitcase and/or find a frame for their art in the future. Larger paper size (11" x 17") available upon request.
* We provide clear plastic sleeves to safely display and protect each drawing. This is a great benefit, especially if the art will be handled near beverages/food, or if weather condition is a consideration.

Other considerations:

Travel Fee:
Depending on the event's location, a travel fee may apply to cover gasoline expense, vehicle "wear & tear" and driving time. Mile distance is calculated using Google Maps driving directions, from caricature artist's home in Redondo Beach to event location. Any distance under 100 round-trip driving miles will not be charged a travel fee. For example, for an event in Cerritos, the approximate round-trip mileage is approximately 40 miles, and takes an estimated 1 hour to 2 hours round-trip, depending on traffic. The applicable travel fee for your event would be WAIVED.

Retainer Fee: $100 minimum, non-refundable, applied to your total.
The retainer fee reserves your date and time. In the extremely rare event of the artist being unable to perform, Client will be notified as far in advance as possible and any retainer fee(s) will be refunded in full. Remaining balance is due at the day of your event.

Optional Service: Pre-drawn color caricature of the Guest of Honor. $100
This is a super fun way to showcase the Guest of Honor as well as introduce the caricature style of the artist to your guests! It is a wonderful conversation piece and a priceless keepsake for you to enjoy. Normally, for a commissioned caricature drawing in color with a theme, we charge $200 per subject drawn. However, for your special occasion, we offer to do the same service at 50% off. If you are interested in this option, please provide pictures via e-mail, and kindly allow at least 1 week prior to the event to have it drawn.
